Why do you say People Experience and not User Experience?
'User' implies defining the person you're designing for as a very specific individual. Many people are critical to the successful deployment and adoption of any product, service or system, and not all are considered users. A holistic approach reveals new opportunities to enable and improve experiences.

How do you apply coaching to your work?
I apply coaching in two ways. As a trained professional coach I work with individuals, teams, and groups to support them in making progress towards their desired goals.
I leverage a coaching approach when working with clients on people experiences for their services. It is important to look not only at the experience you are creating for your clients, but also at your own creative experience. Sometimes building better experiences comes from improving your own work experience. Coaching can help identify these opportunities.
What type of research methods and tools do you use?
Over the years I have worked in people experience, I have utilized many approaches. The best results come from adapting and inventing approaches to suit a specific situation. First let's determine what you want to do, then we can reach into the tool box to decide the best approach. I have extensive experience with classic usability methods, ethnography and field research techniques, and also analyzing data logs - but seriously, let's create the approach that is right for your situation.
